Glamourflage Daisy Delight Lip Balm

Hello all!  Sorry for the lack of posts on my blog.  I’ve been a little bit absent because I’ve been really really busy at work and been training for my karate competition and then I immediately jetted off to Malaysia for my holiday!

Well, it’s time to come out of hibernation even though winter is well and truly here!  The cold and dry weather is definitely different to the humidity and heat in Malaysia!  (you think??)  When Glamourflage Daisy Delight Lip balm was sent to me, I was pretty excited since my lips get really dry, particularly in winter.   Plus.. who doesn’t love an Australian made product??

Lacura Eye Cream

Eye cream is pretty important and the most forgotten skin care step.  I’m reaching the big 3-0 and have now decided to step up my skin care routine, paying particular attention to the eyes since the skin around the eyes are thinner than the rest of the face.  Today, I’m reviewing an eye cream, Lacura Renew Eye Care Anti-wrinkle Q10, I picked up at Aldi along with the Lacura Face Mask.

Lacura Face Mask

There are plenty of face masks out in the market – healing masks, hydration masks, clay masks, etc.  The masks I love to use are the clay masks because it tames my oily skin and draws out my impurities.  I use my clay mask only once a week because of my sensitive skin but I do feel the great effects of a good clay mask.  Today’s review will be on a clay mask purchased from Aldi, Lacura Face Mask.

Mario Badescu Skincare Aloe Vera Toner

Toners are meant to be used after face washing and before application of the moisturizer.  I’ve never really understood the purpose of using a toner until I actually started using it consistently.  Toners are meant to remove whatever gunk that is left on your face after washing/cleansing with a face wash/cleansing oil.  This includes the face wash/cleansing oil remnants.  Today, I’ll be talking about Mario Badescu Skincare Aloe Vera Toner which I’ve been using twice daily for the past month or so.

Sodashi at CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney

So.. I know I’ve been M.I.A. lately.  Well, why not kick start my blog again with an exciting (but calming) post!

I was recently invited to the CHI spa at Shangri-La Hotel for the launch of the Sodashi product and treatment range.  CHI Spa in Sydney is the only spa in Australia and there are only 22 spas in the world!!  What’s more, all CHI spas are exclusive to the Shangri-La Hotel…

Chi, The Spa

look at that.. how can you resist a spa with such a soothing environment – calming music, dimmed lights, infinity bath tub with rose petals, all inclusive personal room with showers/changerooms.. sounds like I’m selling the spa?  LOL! I honestly felt so calm in there but then again I have not been to a high-end spa.

sorry, bad camera, so they’re really bad pics.. but I’m sure you can find more pics on their website.

Sodashi - Megan Larsen

Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La Sydney recently partnered with Sodashi – the brand that started in the kitchen of Megan Larsen.  Sodashi is Sanskrit for “Wholeness, Purity, Radiance”.  I was introduced to Sodashi at this event and I certainly felt extremely zen.  I was given a chance to understand the thought process that goes into the making of Sodashi and its scents.  The essential oils are sourced from all over the world, for example the Lavender Essential oils from France, Rose Essential oil from Turkey.. but it’s all made in Australia.

Sodashi Essential Oil

Here’s the Basic 101 on aromas:  Base smell (groups the whole smell together, like a net) – rosewood, sandalwood, ylang ylang; Medium smell – rose, lavender; Top smell (it’s usually a sharp scent and has more of a tendency to evaporate quickly) – citrus smells like grapefruit, orange, lime.  When you add the base, medium and top smell together, that’s when you develop your distinct aromatic smell.

Here are some of the Sodashi products:

Chi, The Spa and Sodashi?  Two very zen-like calming and relaxing brands – I think it’s a great partnership.  I was gratefully gifted a few Sodashi products and will be reviewing them soon.. check back later!

Stay Beautiful!!

xx Sam
