Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips

I’ve always had problems with bright and dark lipsticks.  You gotta remember to bring it with you because you’ve got that problem of re-applying after eating or kissing your significant other.  One thing I so want to avoid is leaving a “kiss mark” on someone.  I always have to wipe it off whoever I kiss! Oh, the scandal!! (#firstworldproblems)

Now, here’s a product that claims to be kissproof and long lasting.  Klara Cosmetics Kiss Proof Lips claims to give 24 hour long lasting matte lips, full coverage and high pigmentation.  There are 11 colours in this range.  The colour I was gifted was 09, which is a pinky red colour called “Watermelon Kiss”.  The applicator is a fuzzy tip which is fairly flexible.  It was extremely hard for me to use because the tip bends too much, so it was difficult for me to apply a straight line on the lip.  Well, thank goodness it broke off in the bottle  Yes, the applicator broke off when I was opening it.  AND IT WAS ONLY THE 4TH OR 5TH TIME I opened it!!!!! Now..I’ll have to figure out how to get the most of the product by trying to tip it out.

On another note, let’s talk about the product itself.  The pigmentation is fantastic!  It really delivers the pop of colour that it claims.  It is smooth to apply on the lips and dried very quickly to a matte finish.  You will have to fix any mistakes quickly!  Once it’s dried, it definitely is kiss proof!  There was no transfer whatsoever.  However, the long lasting colour did not last past lunch.  Majority of the lip colour was still there but some of it was completely gone.  I did try to eat as carefully as possible.  It also lost its kiss-proof ability.  There was a little bit of transfer when I dabbed my lips (or kissed someone) and the colour started smudging on my lips.  It could be the oil from the food.

Mehron Cheek Powder Palette

A good blush can do wonders to a look.  It can change up a look or add some colour to your face (especially on those days where you are feeling under the weather).

Mehron Cheek Powder Palette comes in 8 colours – TropiCoral, Rosewood, Mocha, Contour, Mojave, Wineberry, Just Peachy and Bold Red.  This palette has colours for people with the lighter skin tones to the darker skin tone.  The pigmentation of the blushes in this palette is EXCELLENT (yes, emphasis on excellent is required).  Just one very light tap of the brush in the the product can provide so much colour.   On the other hand, you do have to be careful with application because pigmentation is so rich!  There is no shimmer in any of the colours, so this gives a more natural finish.  One downside to this cheek palette is that the product goes everywhere when you dip the brush – a lot of “fall out”.

Packaging wise, it is excellent – light and sturdy.  There is a big mirror on the inside of the packaging.  This palette also comes with a brush but I would say the brush is pretty useless for blush application.  It could work for eyeshadow application.

Conclusion:

I love this blush palette.  My favourite colours are the TropiCoral, Rosewood and Mojave.  I use the blushes in this palette for almost all my looks (you can see my looks here – My Portfolio).  However, you do have to be VERY careful with how much you apply.

Price:

AUD$41.53 for 8 colours; AUD$5.19 each blush (each blush 5.1g, total 41g)

What is your favourite blush palette?  This would definitely make it as my favourite of all time (well, currently, anyway).

Antipodean Beauties – Pop of Colour

Antipodean Beauties Banner

I’ve been missing out challenges lately. BAD!  Sorry!  This week, however, I present to you..

Pop of Colour

Instead of one pop of colour, I thought I should do a look with a variety of colours that are nice and bright.  Why do one colour when you can have a few, right?  The colours I used were mainly blue and purple.

Well, here it is..

Nail of the Day – OPI Pamplona Purple

Better late than never!  That’s the motto I believe in.  Today I bring you (the late) Monday Manicure with OPI’s Pamplona Purple from Just Beachy mini collection.  It is a very rich purple but a bit on a darker side as compared to the rest of the shades in this collection.  The application was fairly smooth although it did get quite sticky when you do not shake the bottle between a few nails.  This nail colour is extremely pigmented, giving a rich colour payoff.

Conclusion:

As with all the other nail polishes in the set, this nail polish also gives a very rich colour.  The dark purple colour does not scream beach since it’s a little on the darker side but it does give a very night summery feel!

Nail of the Day – OPI Cajun Shrimp

Even after 2 weeks from coming back from my holidays, it seems to be particularly difficult to get back into my blogging schedule. I might still be in holiday mode!

Time to kickstart the engine??? I bring you.. Manicure Monday with OPI’s Cajun Shrimp from the mini collection Just Beachy. This nail polish is a vibrant red colour and it is very pigmented.  I believe one coat of this nail polish is enough since it is extremely pigmented, although the 2nd coat does make it quite vibrant.  The 2nd coat also makes it a lot glossier.  This red leans slightly orange.  Application wise, it is not as sticky as the other nail polish (La Paz-itively Hot) in this mini collection.

Conclusion:

It’s a really pigmented nail polish that gives a nice rich vibrant red colour.  As with the other nail colour in this collection, I’m loving the rich colour and it definitely gives me a summer vibe!
