Toners are meant to be used after face washing and before application of the moisturizer. I’ve never really understood the purpose of using a toner until I actually started using it consistently. Toners are meant to remove whatever gunk that is left on your face after washing/cleansing with a face wash/cleansing oil. This includes the face wash/cleansing oil remnants. Today, I’ll be talking about Mario Badescu Skincare Aloe Vera Toner which I’ve been using twice daily for the past month or so.
Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner comes in a no-frills plastic bottle with a spout. It’s got a slight green colour and barely has a fragrance. The green tinge is barely there once you pour it from the bottle onto the cotton pad. Personally, I love the spout. I can be a little careless at times and the spout really helps me in resisting the temptation to spill this everywhere. I notice that I do have to squeeze the bottle a little to help the toner come out.
The product itself feels good. I have used this on my highly sensitive skin during one of my many recent allergy reactions. Although it did not cool down my inflamed skin, it was the only thing that did not agitate it. Even washing my face with water agitated my skin, so this product brought me some comfort. It did not help speed up recovery. When I’m allergy free, the toner does feel good on the skin. I feel slightly refreshed after using it and it doesn’t feel tacky. It also absorbs very quickly and take off any dirt/gunk leftover after washing my face. Yes, I feel extremely happy if the cotton pad is not white after using it to wipe my face, neck and de-colletage.
The ingredients in this Aloe Vera toner is very minimal: Water, Aloe Vera Gel and Methylparaben (a preservative).
This is a great everyday toner, especially since I have sensitive skin which is prone to allergies. Although it doesn’t help the allergies heal, it does not agitate the skin. This toner also does a pretty good job in cleaning the gunk off the face.
