In April, Rimmel London launched #Instaflawless and Kate Sculpting and Highlighting Palette as well as the Lip Conditioning Balm by Kate SPF15. There’s something about the packaging that makes it so attractive and the product is pretty something itself! Read on to find out more!
I’m definitely impressed with this new release. The #Instaflawless is meant to be a tinted primer that brightens the skin tone in an instant and helps to care for the skin for a more radiant look. I’m not sure if it cares for the skin since I did not notice any difference in the skin texture but it does look good upon application. To be honest, I’ve actually been using this product as a replacement for my foundation (i.e. I apply primer under this product and set it with powder). It does not provide much coverage but I love it for days where I do not want to feel anything heavy on my skin. I use this all over my face but use concealer on my cheeks where I need to cover my hyper pigmentation and acne scarring. Once I set this with powder, it lasts almost all day without touch ups. I still get a little oily but it is bearable, not like I slathered oil all over my face. Unfortunately, there are only 2 shades: Light/Medium and Medium/Dark. The Medium/Dark colour suits me perfectly.
The Kate Sculpting and Highlighting Kit is a combo of Highlight, Bronzer (they call it a shading powder) and a blush. I love, love, love the highlighter. It gives me a nice subtle glow but not too much that I look like a disco ball. It does have a little bit of shimmer in it but I don’t have big pores on my cheekbone so I’m okay with the shimmer. I use the middle colour, (i.e. the shading powder) more as a bronzer than a contour. The middle colour isn’t very pigmented so, you do have to go over a few times to get a bit more colour (particularly for my skin tone). Blush pigmentation is just as great as the highlighter. All colours have a bit of fallout when you dip your brush into the product. The lasting power is fantastic. I wore this from 8am to midnight and the blush and highlighter was as though I just applied it. Only downside is that it comes in one “shade”which is suitbale for light/medium skintones. Overall a great palette, particularly if you need to travel.
The new releases from Rimmel London are great and I would highly recommend purchasing it.
Come back on Friday to see a few pictures/short video of how I used this product. Promise it will be up (ignore my last post about promising a look! Life threw me a curve ball and I, unfortunately, crumbled).
Products were sent to me for review but this did not affect my personal opinion in any way.
