Cetaphil Suntivity SPF 50+ Ultra Light Lotion Face & Body

2nd product review of 2015 and it’s another sunblock!  I’ve been jogging a lot lately and have been spending a lot of time in the sun, especially in the hours where the UV rays are the strongest.  I guess one of my resolutions of 2015 is to take better care of my skin!  Today’s review will be on Cetaphil’s new range, Suntivity SPF 50+ Ultra Light Lotion Face & Body.

Cetaphil Suntivity Range

I noticed that even with sunblock (or sunscreen, whichever you want to call it) application prior to my run, I was still becoming darker and darker.  So, I though maybe I should put on sunblock even before I leave the house.  At least then, my application before my run is a re-application!  An opportunity came along when I was given Cetaphil’s new range – Suntivity SPF50+ Ultra Light Lotion Body and Face.

I put this on after my moisturizer application, 20 minutes before leaving the house.  Although the packaging says non-greasy, utlra-light, 1 beg to differ.  The product on my skin doesn’t absorb very well and seems to leave a sticky residue.  The stickiness seems to remain on my skin even after a quick rinse.  You’ll need to have a body scrub or scrub with a loofah to remove the sticky residue.  This product was also a little difficult to apply.  Once you squeeze the product out of the tube, you’ll have to be quick to apply on the skin or it will be quite tacky.  For this reason, I did not even try to apply this product on my face, even though it says for Face and Body.

Although the feel of the product is far from satisfactory, I feel like this product served its purpose and provided me with the necessary protection.  Of course, I can only judge this by the colour of my skin after my run (very scientific – I know).

Picture time!

Unfortunately, I would not go out and purchase this product since the stickiness on my skin isn’t particularly comfortable.  There are plenty of other brands with SPF50+ which are more comfortable on the skin.
