Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron 32mm

I bought the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron 19mm a few months ago and have loved it.  Since then, I’ve put the 1-inch (32mm) curling iron on my wishlist.  I finally got it from my shopping haul at RY.com.au

The Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron 32mm has a similar look/function to the 19mm –

  • Same Clip to hold the hair
  • 25 different temperature settings for fine, medium and thick hair
  • Slightly rubbery gripped handle
  • 360 swivel cord
  • the push on/off button
  • the little metal stand that can get hot if it touches the heated barrel
  • heats up extremely quickly

Of course, the only difference between the two is the width of the barrel.  The 1 inch barrel gives a bigger looser curl compared to the curls from the 19mm.  It is great for giving loose waves to the hairstyle or giving some texture to the hair.

Picture time!

I love this new 1-inch curling iron.  It heats up quickly and curls the hair very quickly, giving tight curls and loose waves at the same time.  It definitely gives more define curls than my GHD.

Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron 19mm

Hello there!

Hair curler review today!  Every girl needs something to fancy up their hair!  There are countless of hairstyles that you can do with a hair curler or even a hair straightener.

Today, the review will be on the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Iron 19mm (3/4 inch).  I heard that Babyliss Pro is one of the best hair curlers out there.  Unfortunately, I do not have another hair curler so I can’t actually compare this but on it’s own, I am loving this hair curler, so far.  I bought this from My HairCare.

This curling iron has a clip, which allows you to create ribbon curls (see picture below!)  The clip part of the curling iron also heats up.  This means that you can wind your hair around the curling iron for more relaxed curls.  This curling iron comes with a few heat settings (25 different temperatures, to be exact).  The instruction pamphlet that comes with the iron states that temp settings 1-8 (low) is for delicate, thin, easy to curl hair; temp settings 9-17 (medium) is for normal to treated hair; temp settings 18-25 (high) is for thick or wavy hair.  Since the barrel of the iron can get quite hot, it’s very advisable to ensure you’re careful with it (don’t touch it with your fingers, accidentally touch your face or ears or even drop it on yourself).  The barrel of the iron also heats up quite quickly (within a minute to a minute and a half).

The handle has got a slightly rubbery grip and a cord does not tangle as it swivels 360 degrees around the base of the handle (great when you are curling your hair, round and round and round).  The clip is extremely easy to open and close as it is in easy reach.  However, the on and off button is slightly annoying because it’s just a push button.  Since I am not used to the curling iron, I tend to press the on and off button by accident.  By the time I know it, the curling iron is no longer hot!  You’ll get used to the iron and the position of it’s buttons the longer you use it.  The iron comes with a built-in stand.  I wish they provided a heat resistant mat instead as the stand can heat up easily if it’s touching the barrel or it can get tangled in your hair when you’re curling it.

Now, the well awaited pictures!

Conclusion:

I love this new curling iron.  It heats up quickly and I love the variable heat settings, which means I won’t burn my already damaged hair.  It also curls my hair very quickly (I only let my hair touch the heated iron for about 10 seconds).

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk

Hello!

Another hair product for review!

I am a frequent hair washer, meaning, I wash my hair everyday.  I cannot go without washing my hair.  My hair gets really oily and feels dirty (plus, I don’t like the look).  The bad thing about washing your hair everyday is that you can tend to dry it out.  Here comes the Hair Shampoo.  This product is meant to clean your hair without water!  What a wonderful invention!  (especially if you’re going camping or sharing 2 bathrooms with 15 girls for a hen’s night)

Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk comes in a hairspray-like can.  It sprays cooling white powder and has a very distinct floral scent.  This product is extremely easy to use.  I split my hair and spray along the roots and repeat.  I also do this along the back of my head.  As per instructions, I then let it sit in my hair for 2 minutes while the white powder absorbs the oils from my hair.  The wonderful thing about this product is the scent.  For the purpose of testing this product, I did not wash my hair for 2 days and my hair had a weird smell.  The scent from this product took away the smell!  After letting the product sit in my hair for 2 minutes, I then brushed it out.

Here is where you have to be careful you’re not wearing black.  The talc-like product brushed out of my hair and sat on my clothes.  When brushing it off my pants lightly, the powder came off without a problem.  However, when I brushed the powder off with the hand which was also touching my hair, it left a powder mark on my pants.  You do have to brush your hair quite a bit to ensure all the fine powder is removed.  At the end of brushing, my hair is no longer oily!  Hooray!  Although so, my hair felt a little bit powdery/matte and when scratching my scalp, I could easily scratch the fine powder and the leftover dirt on my scalp.  Because my hair feels a bit matte, this is excellent for styling as it had more texture!  Also, my hair now had more volume!

Without further a-do, picture time!

Conclusion:

I would only use the dry shampoo for styling my hair (and it works great for helping style my hair).  Because I am so used to having my hair washed everyday, any product in my hair would make me feel uncomfortable.

Schwarzkopf Live Colour – Shake it up Colour Foam

Hello!

Here’s another hair product.  So, the last hair product didn’t work for me and my regrowth is still obvious.  It is now time to re-colour my hair.  This time, I’m going dark, dark brown to be precise.  With hair dyeing, you do have to take turns with darks and lights to ensure there is an even application.  The last time I went light, and went light again, my regrowth was not properly coloured because the regrowth is much darker.

Now, on with the product.  This hair product comes in something similar to a mini Slurpee cup/frozen coke cup, there is a plastic cup with a plastic half round cover.  (Very different compared to other hair dye products!)  Weird though that the cover is only sticky-taped to the cup so that it is kept close.  This product comes in 2 parts, the developer lotion and the colour powder.  It also comes with a set of instructions (in English and Thai), a pair of gloves and a sachet of conditioner.

To get the product ready, it is easy enough to first pour the developer lotion into the cup and then add the colour powder.  You then shake it 40 times and the product magically becomes foam!  Here are the downsides.  Firstly, when I first pour the developer lotion into the cup, there is a strong grape/fruity flavour.  The clear fluid with fruity scent can be very deceiving to the little humans, so be aware and ensure that you do not casually leave this on the table and run to answer the phone (especially since the developer lotion is in a look-a-like cup with pretty colours!).   Another downside would be the shaking.  Even after shaking the cup for more than 40 times over a minute and a half, the colour powder was not totally dissolved.  You also can’t tell if all the powder is dissolved under the foam.  The undissolved powder was very inconvenient for colour application because the colour powder would just stick to the hair and it is impossible to spread the colour.  Also, when the wet powder touches your skin, it is almost impossible to get off!!!!  I’ve got some on my scalp, forehead, ears and back of the neck.  I’ve been scrubbing and scrubbing to get it off but to no avail. 🙁

After leaving the product on for about half hour, I decided to wash it off because I did not want the powder to stain my skin any longer.  I was under the shower for half an hour but the water still did not run clear.   My hair was also extremely matte and disgustingly dry.  The conditioner provided is definitely not enough to get my hair conditioned.   The colour I chose was Dark Espresso (dark brown colour).  I felt that my hair turned out black but maybe with a little brown tinge (you can be the judge of that with the pics below).

Onwards with the piccies!

Conclusion:

I would not buy this product again.  The application was very difficult (as opposed to the ads) and the undissolved powder stained my skin quite a bit.
